ARMED & GLAMOROUS began because we wanted to create a brand with meaning. Something that represented both of us and what we each stand for. Its the daily reminders that remind us what our ammunition is. Life's not always glamorous, but our goal is to keep you armed; that you are strong enough and tough enough to keep going. The twenty-something years we've been on this planet has taught both of us a lot thus far. Our mission is to make a difference. Growing up we have been very blessed to have amazing parents that encouraged us through the highs and lows. Truly, at the end of the day they are the embodiment of our brand. They have taught us since the beginning to be who we are no matter what and to keep fighting for our dreams. At the end of the day that is what A & G is all about is being "Armed with that Legacy; yourself."
The next venture for A&G we decided was exploring the idea of what we call "ARMED ACCESSORIES." Fashion has always been our armor; what makes us feel strong, empowered, beautiful, and so much more. Again, everyone's armor is going to be different, but with A & G as a brand we want to create things to remind you in any form you are beyond amazing (whether its the classic black A & G tee, flannel, hat, or necklace). After we launched the brand we thought what's next? Of course we started digging through our closets and amazing friends started giving suggestions. Ideas of being "ARMED, FUN, ECCENTRIC, AND OF COURSE GLAMOROUS came into play."
Chelsey has always had a love for HATS and pretty much since we can remember would always steal dads hats. Dads been our hero and idol since the day we were born. He will always have the status of "BADASS & COOL." For Chels when she was younger she kind of had a tom-boy edge and that has stuck (tends to incorporate hats still to this day into her wardrobe). So a snap-back was definitely a must at some point. Whats cool is that these hats were inspired by my dad and all his amazing hats as well as one of our friends and his camo hat, and of course my TRUE RELIGION snap-back. These hats were designed with the idea of being who you are, owning it always, and knowing that you will always have a touch of "ARMOR," when you rock ARMED & GLAMOROUS.
We both wanted to create some pretty sick hats that the boys would love and the dolls would dare to rock. So we ended up with some pretty crazy snap-backs that state in the best font "ARMED," which we can thank Dennis Miller for making happen. He stuck with us ya'll with this crazy idea and of course helped us incorporate our fave AK 47, GUN-SIGHT, & ARROWS on the side to make these hats perfection. Bottom line for A&G we wanted a touch of camo, and that classic black snap-back with the idea that someone might just wanna rock these babes everyday.
On the other-hand over-accessorizing has always been apart of the TWINZIES handbook. For the dolls & even the guys we pulled some ideas of layering: ammunition, strength, history, and new-beginnings all into what we call our "LEGACY NECKLACES."
These necklaces in part were inspired by our mom. Our mom has always been our #1 fashion inspiration. We have always raided her closet because she has always had the most amazing clothes and unique statement pieces. The way our mom dresses and puts things together is truly a gift. She has a talent and eye for layering, accessorizing, and finding the most incredible things. Also, our hairstylist who is too amazing for words is always fabulous and put-together inspired us as well. When ARMED & GLAMOROUS first started this babe took our AR 15 KEY CHAIN and stuck it on a necklace....its the people in our lives that have always inspired us so we had to make something just because of Jess. Layering has always been apart of what we both do with style so why not do a fun necklace?
This necklace had so many ideas & beginnings and start-overs but we finally decided on two necklaces as one. We decided that personalizing some dog-tags would add that armored touch with that slight reminder of that legacy we all leave. We couldn't just stop at one necklace though we had to pull something old, new, and with some history. That piece of history includes some vintage keys that come from various vehicles, doors, locks, and whats fun they all have a hidden story. Whats so unique about our "LEGACY NECKLACES," is the fact that no two will ever be the same.
Every single key is different and has various shapes & sizes. ARMED & GLAMOROUS is meant to remind those who rock it of their power, incredible strength, and beauty. That Legacy Necklace is meant to remind each of us of the endless possibilities in life & how it is meant to be an endless series of doors, hills, adventures, heart breaks, and through all that the end result leaving a legacy & learning who you truly are meant to be.
