Our outfits hold the meaning of all our good times seen in the headlights between the Midwest and the West Coast. As we approach graduation time at FIDM we have gathered together the new looks that represent each of us and who we have become. Coming out West has given us the opportunity to meet so many inspiring people from the art sector, fashion community, and many entrepreneurs. San Diego has pushed boundaries that each of us didn’t even know existed.

Courtney, the ever colorful twin, has always been about a mix of confetti and beach life has brought Wildfox Couture siren netting, tie-dyed denim by joe's, and neon bright color by the recent designer collaboration with Peter Pilotto and Target. California has influenced her fashion by challenging the ideas of color blocking, mixing prints, and becoming that girl with a heart between two places. Her inspirations still remain bedazzled along with 10 rings icing, but the new Jeffrey Campbell Tiffany blue shoes (she was actually afraid of these) add a bit more edge to her classic rainbow persona.

Chelsey on the other hand has further pushed her grunge limits. Remaining true to that classic bandanna, rocker jacket, BlackMilk body suit, flannel, and black and white she has explored local designers of the SD market. One designer that inspired her was Lord Wallington and his beautiful ties. She chose to challenge her usual black and white rock look and glam it up with a one of a kind bow tie. Made with tuxedo shirt pleats and a combination of black cotton it screamed timeless beauty turned rocker chic by herself. Those local entrepreneurs in the San Diego area have also inspired Chelsey to be innovative and challenge what is already in her closet full of layers. Exploring looks inspired by Khloe Kardashian (Pyrex Vision Flannel), and Boy London ltd have become some of her favorite must haves.

Upon graduation the twinzies may be those twentysomethings from the Midwest fearless at heart, but will always have those San Diego lights in mind because the journey doesn’t start at the beginning, it begins at the end.
